TORONTO: Sentry Investments (“Sentry” or the “Manager”) is pleased to announce that it has filed with, and received a receipt from, the securities commissions and regulatory authorities in each of the provinces and territories of Canada, an amendment to the Sentry Group of Funds’ Simplified Prospectus and the Annual Information Form, each dated May 28, 2010, in respect of Sentry Canadian Income Fund (“Canadian Income Fund”), Sentry Canadian Income Class (“Canadian Income Class”), Sentry Diversified Income Fund (“Diversified Income Fund”) and Sentry Conservative Income Fund (“Conservative Income Fund”) (collectively, the “Funds” and each, a “Fund”). These amendments reflect (a) changes to the investment strategies of Canadian Income Fund, Canadian Income Class and Diversified Income Fund; and (b) a change in the name of Conservative Income Fund.
Amendments to investment strategies for Sentry Canadian Income Fund and Diversified Income Fund: The Manager is amending the current investment strategies of Canadian Income Fund, Canadian Income Class and Diversified Income Fund to allow each fund to invest in foreign securities in an amount not exceeding approximately 30% of their assets. Prior to this change, the Canadian Income Fund and the Canadian Income Class had the ability to invest up to 15% of their assets in foreign securities, and the Diversified Income Fund had the ability to invest up to 25% of its assets in foreign securities.
The Manager believes that these amendments will provide the Funds with increased flexibility in achieving their respective investment objectives without impacting their risk ranking.
Amendment to the name of Sentry Conservative Income Fund: Commencing immediately, the name of the Conservative Income Fund will be changed to “Sentry Conservative Balanced Income Fund.” The Manager believes that this name change more accurately reflects the investment objective of the Fund.
