Precious Metals and Mining Trust (TSX: MMP.UN) announces Warrant Offering

TORONTO: Precious Metals and Mining Trust (the “Trust”) is pleased to announce that a preliminary short-form prospectus in connection with an offering of Warrants to its unitholders to subscribe for Trust units (the “Warrant Offering”) has been filed with, and the receipt issued by, the securities commissions and regulatory authorities in each of the provinces and territories of Canada. The Warrant Offering is subject to receipt of all regulatory approvals, including the approval of the Toronto Stock Exchange (“TSX”).

Warrants and Subscription Price: Each unitholder will receive one Warrant for each Trust unit held on the record date. One Warrant will entitle the holder to purchase one Trust unit at a price of $7.42 per unit (the “Exercise Price”). On February 24, 2010, the Trust’s net asset value per unit at the close of business was $7.23. The record date has not yet been determined. The Warrants can be exercised up until the expiration date of July 23, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. The Trust will make a further announcement with respect to the record date.

Precious Metals and Mining Trust: The Trust is a closed-end investment trust that aims to provide unitholders with long-term capital appreciation and monthly cash distributions. The Trust invests in an actively managed portfolio consisting primarily of equity securities of mining issuers listed on a North American stock exchange. Precious Metals and Mining Trust units trade on the TSX under the symbol MMP.UN.
