TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 23, 2014) - Sentry Investments ("Sentry") is pleased to announce the launch of Sentry Personal Pension Portfolios, a series of four global asset-allocation portfolios designed to help Canadian advisors change the conversation with investors from short-term distractions to long-term investment outcomes. Taking a cue from some of the world's most sophisticated investors - pension funds - Sentry has built global investment portfolios with dedicated allocations to non-traditional asset classes, including securities in the real-estate, infrastructure, energy and materials sectors, as well as global high-yield bonds.
"Sentry Personal Pension Portfolios are the next step for Sentry Investments, providing Canadians a platform for diversified, long-term global investing," said Sean Driscoll, Chief Executive Officer. "Our recognized leadership in non-traditional asset classes, as well as our track record in core equities and fixed income, make these Portfolios a natural extension of the Sentry house style - an investment approach that has delivered superior risk-adjusted returns for Canadian investors."
Sentry Personal Pension Portfolios are managed by a team of eight seasoned investment managers at Sentry; asset allocation will be determined by Executive Vice-President and Chief Investment Officer, Dennis Mitchell, and Chief Investment Strategist and Senior Portfolio Manager, James Dutkiewicz. These investment professionals are part of a larger team at Sentry that has been widely recognized for its investment expertise. Sentry is one of only three firms to receive five consecutive Brendan Wood International Canadian TopGun Asset Management Team Awards (2009 to 2013).
"The Sentry investment team is a competitive group when it comes to delivering risk-adjusted returns but we are extremely collaborative when it comes to sharing ideas and comparing notes on investments," said Dennis Mitchell. "These new Portfolios will showcase that collaboration, and Canadian advisors and investors will be the beneficiaries."
There are four Sentry Personal Pension Portfolios (the "Portfolios") in total - each with a different balance of growth, income and capital preservation - corresponding to different investment needs. The four Portfolios are classes of shares of Sentry Corporate Class Ltd., a mutual fund corporation that currently includes 12 additional classes of shares managed by Sentry.
The Portfolios will be available in all of the series offered by Sentry, including Series A (initial sales charge, deferred sales charge, low load and low load 2), Series F (for fee-based accounts), Series P (preferred pricing), Series PF (preferred pricing for fee-based accounts) and Series I (institutional investors). Marking a first for Sentry, these portfolios will also be offered with Series T and Series FT.
