TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 11, 2013) - The special meeting of unitholders of Diversified Preferred Share Trust (the "Trust") called for April 11, 2013, was adjourned today as the required quorum was not present at the meeting. The special meeting has been adjourned to April 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. and is to be held at The Toronto Board of Trade, 1 First Canadian Place, Toronto, ON, M5X 1C1.
The special meeting has been requisitioned to seek the approval of the Trust's unitholders to restructure the Trust so that it is administered as an open-end mutual fund in compliance with National Instrument 81-102 - Mutual Funds, as well as other matters ancillary thereto, including a change in the Trust's investment objectives (collectively, the "Restructuring"). Full details regarding the matters to be considered in respect of the proposed Restructuring are as set out in the management information circular dated March 12, 2013 (the "Information Circular") that was sent to unitholders of record on March 19, 2013.
Due to the adjournment of the Trust's special meeting, the following matters, as disclosed in the Information Circular, will now occur on or about the dates specified below should the Trust's unitholders approve the proposed Restructuring:
